Financial Crisis Breaches and Fraud in RMBS Trusts and Whole Loan Pools
Leading up to the financial crisis, fraud and misrepresentation was rampant. It seems everyone from borrowers, originators, servicers and capital markets parties establishing and selling RMBS trust and whole loan pools were not immune from the desire to take ill-gotten gains. Investors needed to take an active role in both reviewing the offering documents and ensuring the loans conformed to the representations and warranties.
This is the first webinar in a six part series developed from lessons learned from a loan and investment professional who experienced the financial crisis first hand. The series utilizes the corporate credit union failure, financial institution success and more than 200 RMBS trusts reviewed and applies the lessons learned to investments, individual loan and whole loan pool purchases assessments.
This first webinar will discuss the parties to RMBS trust/loan pool sales formation and sale, participants which contributed to losses, how investors failed to detect the issues and provide insight into how webcasts 2-6 will lay the frame work for taking a more intentional active role in managing investments and loan growth risks.
